The current ThumbGen application retires slowly... I already started to work on a completely new ThumbGen concept. Will take some time to get it ready (don't worry, I'll support the old version during the development of the new one). If it will work the same way as I have it in my head now then I'll never receive any feature request :) You'll be able to add anything you want without me moving a finger :) Flexibility and ease of use are the keywords of the ThumbGen 2 app.

Just wanted to make sure that the lack of updates for the current ThumbGen doesn't make you think the project was discontinued or abandoned. It's (slowly) moving on. Don't ask when ThumbGen 2 will be ready because nobody knows (yet) :)

ThumbGen Lite is just a lighter ThumbGen :-)  In order to help novice users to get into the ThumbGen's world a bit more easier we stripped down ThumbGen's User Interface and released the Lite version. Under the hood the two editions are completely identical, just that Lite has less functionality available to the user.

Ideally an end user needs a Lite version and a Bundle and he is ready to go and enjoy a full ThumbGen experience.

The standard ThumbGen edition is recommended for advanced users, template creators, themers or users with special needs (tweaks, fine tuning, etc).

Both editions will be updated simultaneously and their versions will be always synced.

It is recommended to avoid placing both executables in the same folder (despite working may create confusions).

ThumbGen Designer is an application for editing the ThumbGen templates. A template defines how the output image will look like and the Designer allows creating/customizing these templates. If it not needed for the normal usage but whoever feels like creating new templates or adjusting existing ones could try it :)

Download the Designer archive and unzip its content (ThumbGen.Designer.exe) near the ThumbGen.exe file. That way you will be able to start the Designer directly from ThumbGen (if needed).
